Dunn Will Co-Chair Government Investigations & White Collar Group
Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Jason Dunn, former United States attorney for the District of Colorado, has rejoined the firm’s Litigation Department in Denver as a shareholder, further enhancing its government investigations, state attorneys general and political law practices.
Prior to rejoining the firm, Dunn served as the presidentially appointed and unanimously confirmed U.S. attorney for the District of Colorado, where he oversaw the prosecution of all federal crimes and the litigation of nearly all civil matters involving the United States government in Colorado. Dunn and his team fought cybercriminals and brought numerous actions under the False Claims Act (FCA), the Controlled Substances Act (CSA), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and other civil and criminal statutes. Prior to that, he was a shareholder at the firm and served as chair of the firm’s Political & Regulatory Law Group and its State Attorneys General Group, and served as Colorado deputy attorney general from 2005‒2008.

Dunn has extensive legal experience and intimate knowledge of governmental and political processes. His practice encompasses counseling a wide range of corporations, business groups, trade associations and political organizations on federal and state government investigations, internal investigations, state attorneys general and regulatory matters. In addition to leveraging his work as U.S. attorney, Dunn will continue to provide clients advice in the areas of political law, including campaign finance, election and ballot initiative law.
“It was an honor to serve as U.S. attorney and I’m excited to be returning to Brownstein. I look forward to building the firm’s government investigations and state attorneys general service offerings with the talented team that’s already in place as well as returning to my work on political and regulatory law issues,” said Dunn.
Dunn earned his law degree at the University of Colorado Law School, and his master’s degree and bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado.
